The 1L system holds a single 5" filter for portability, 6L systems can hold 2 candles, and 8L/12L systems are capable of holding up to 4 filters making them perfect for families or events.

There are no hidden costs or "additional extras" required with the NEWTON filter system.

NEWTON Filter Contaminant Removal

Bacteria & Cyst Removal 99.9999% removal of Cholera, Typhoid, Salmonella, E. Coli, Fecal Coliform, Cryptosporidium Parvum, Giardia Lamblia etc.
Sediment & Suspended Solids 100% removal up to 0.5 micron (absolute rating), can removal particulate as small as 0.2 micron (nominal rating).
Chlorine & Chloramines >99% removal, tested in line with NSF/ANSI Standard 42 protocols.
Fluoride >97% removal of all types including Fluorosilicic acid/hydrofluorosilicate, sodium fluorosilicate, and sodium fluoride.
Lead >99% removal of Lead, tested in line with NSF/ANSI standard 53 protocols.
Heavy Metals >98% removal of Aluminium, Iron, Mercury, Nickel & Zinc, tested in line with NASF/ANSI Standard 53 protocols.
Pharmaceuticals >95% removal of Acetaminophen, Progesterone, Ibuprofen, Naproxen Sodium, tested in line with NSF/ANSI Standard 401 protocols.

  • No. This is normal. Most TDS meters measure the conductivity of a liquid and are not a reliable indicator of water quality. Combine these with other testing methods such as chlorine and/or heavy metal testing strips for a better idea of efficiency.

  • It is important that the filters are fully submerged and left to soak, this will saturate the filtration media and prevent "channelling".

  • Water will always flow through the easiest pathway. Think of a winding stream. If the filters are not saturated then the water will make its own way and potentially bypass some of the filter media.

  • The 8.5L and 12L systems allow a maximum of four filter candles to be installed. Installing 4 filters will double the filtration speed and usage capacity which is better for high use environments such as events or families of 4+

  • Yes! NEWTON filters are available with Limescale reduction, a first of its kind in gravity filtration!
